The Sea Pearl is built in Vlaardingen, Netherlands as a sailing/fishing vessel named Dirk.

By 1930 she is the last remaining sailing vessel in the Dutch Herring fleet.

The vessel is purchased to begin a new life as the SV Sea Pearl, becoming the second schooner of the Silhouette Cruises fleet.
